About Me
Learn more about my professional career

"Without translation, I would be limited to the borders of my own country. The translator is my most important ally. He introduces me to the world" - Italo Calvino.

My name is Catarina Ramos, and I am a freelance translator with a Bachelor's Degree in Translation with Specialization in English and German.

I finished my degree in 2014.
After a volunteer internship teaching English to children in Ukraine, I started working on a translation company based in Portugal until late 2016.

For two years I was able to gain experience and skills in several fields, including project management, which gave me a good insight on how I can better help clients. I was also able to work with some of the biggest international companies in fields such as IT, computers, telecommunications, technical, marketing and gaming.

In November, 2016 I established myself as a freelance translator.
I also started a Spanish course with which I aquired level B1 of proficiency.

In 2017 I attended several conferences, including TransLisbon and TLC in Warsaw. Networking is an important part of being a translator as it is to keep on learning.
I also got a certificate from the online training on Digital Marketing provided by Google.

In 2018 I finished a Veterinary Care Assistant course, a field I am passionate about and wish to work in more in the future. I also attended the APTRAD's 2nd International Conference, in Porto and the "Fake News and Other AI Challenges for the News Media in the 21st Century" Conference in Vienna, as well as several other online conferences throughout the year.

And I was involved in some amazing projects!
